Possible signs of sexual abuse in children:

*Changes in sleeping/eating habits

*Withdrawal, isolation

*Regressive behavior (sudden bed wetting, thumb sucking.)

*Young childrens inability to play when they used to engage in play with others

*Avoidance of certain places or people

*Inappropriate dress (dressing in layers)

*Frequent bladder or yeast infections

*Signs of a sexually transmitted disease

*Excessive masturbation

*Frequent irritation in the genital area

*Any unusual behavior that is out of character for a child should be questioned by a parent or caregiver

*Age-inappropriate interest in sexual matters
