CrossRoads has two part time, board certified pediatricians on staff to provide Child Medical Exams (CME) to victims of child maltreatment. Medical exams are at the request of law enforcement and the Department of Social Services. The Doctor will gather important information (about experiences, thoughts, behavior and emotions) from the caregivers and child if they are old enough, to help the team make better recommendations. Please note, you will not receive a bill from CrossRoads however CrossRoads will submit bills to insurance companies or to the Victims Compensation program. Please remember to bring your insurance card!
The medical exam can be a lengthy process. Your child will be given a snack while they are here. You are welcome to bring food and/or drinks to CrossRoads.
*The medical exam does not include an internal exam of children.
